The unexpected

I can’t believe that I’m actually interested in a Republican candidate.  Two-party systems are dumb and I know that, so perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised.  Maybe I’m surprised that the thing that compels me to like this candidate is so atypical for a Republican of all people.

Who?  Ron Paul.

Why?  He’s for economic freedom.

What do I mean by that?  Wants to dismantle the Federal Reserve.  Supports alternative currencies, such as the Liberty Dollar, which is now experiencing a peak in interest after the headquarters of the company was raided last month.   I suggest doing your research on the Liberty Dollar and alternative currencies.  While you’re at it, may as well look into the impending collapse of the dollar and current banking systems.

Cynical?  No…imminent.  Imminent.

The upside is that there is an alternative: gold.  Get it.

Ok Leandra. I’m going to check you on this one and quote you, “DO YOUR RESEARCH.” And leave out youtube and all that other trash. Ron Paul’s political agenda is less than fantastic and altogether damaging from international, human rights, and civil liberties perspectives. I can’t say the democratic candidates are tremendously appealing, but really..Ron Paul’s veganism doesn’t even make up for his utter idiocy.

Pam, you’re right…I have to “do my research” on all the political candidates. Honestly, it hasn’t been a priority on my list because I think that politics is a game. Being able to vote gives citizens the idea that they’re participating in some kind of democratic process; that’s not what we have here in the US. I was just surprised that I was at all remotely interested in a Republican candidate. Yes, it speaks to the ignorance that exists within two-party systems of going for the candidates that are part of the party you align yourself with. All around, I assumed all Republican candidates to be disinteresting to me. I was fascinated by this particular aspect of his platform, but know nothing about the rest, hence, my not speaking on it.

    Thanks for the knowledge, chica.
