Thank God!

…for heat in winter.  It’s so easy to overlook, one of those things we just expect to be there, but heat is no guarantee for everyone.  I remember winter days in Chicago.  It was nothing to see dozens of homeless people nestled in whatever they could find as they slept on the ground of the highway underpass.  As much as one can freeze from being outside for twenty minutes in February, imagine sleeping out there all night.  I’m certain that it’s ten times worse than I can even fathom. 

So now that we’ve got the radiators on, it’s feeling pretty good in here as it gets colder outside.  Winters are starting to be a huge pain.  I wonder what they feel like in New Zealand…
