Be inspired!

Today, I’ll be accompanying my grandmother to the hospital for some tests. Yesterday, I found out that pain she’s been complaining about is a stomach aneurism, not ulcers like she’s been saying. Also turns out, she knew.

Finding the good: we’re going to attempt making this 79 year-old woman stop smoking. May the force be with us. If we succeed, she will have finally quit and her health will improve. If we don’t succeed, we tried. I’m fortunate enough to be with her now through all of this, no matter what happens.

Make a wish…but don’t close your eyes

In the past few years, I haven’t made a wish that wasn’t focused on Janeen Anita. Besides the obvious birthday wish blowing my heart over candles over a yellow cake from jewel. On the day to day, it is “I wish I would close on this sale so I can buy some Crème La Mer” or “I wish that fly guy at Starbucks would turn around and see the flecks of gold sparkling in my brown eyes” or “I wish I can win the lottery and give a middle finger to everybody—and their mama too.”

But this past Saturday, I got to work on the front lines with Make-A-Wish Foundation and granted a wish to a ten-year-old boy named Chuck who was diagnosed with leukemia. Operation Nice

February 13, 2009 | filed under challenge, inspiring, website | Leave a Comment

After a random act of kindness, Jersey girl Melissa Morris Ivone decided to start a blog about perpetuating the niceness meme. Every Monday, she takes the guesswork out of being nice by providing a “Nice Assignment,” something easy that can make a difference like sending someone flowers, hugging someone, giving a compliment, or volunteering. The blog highlights pictures, blogs, and testimonials about all…being nice!

Operation Nice epitomizes the focus of finding good in the world and being inspired to create more. I challenge you to go to site, send someone an e-card and do something unexpectedly nice for someone else. Play your part in making the world a better place. It’s the little things, people. 🙂
